What We Promise
v1.0 · May 2026Most company promises live in a Terms of Service document written by lawyers to protect the company. This page is the opposite: a plain-English list of commitments from us to you, written to be held against us.
If CapybaraQR ever breaks one of these promises, you can link to this page and call it out. That accountability is intentional.
Your QR codes never expire.
A static QR code you generate today will still scan in 10 years. We do not throttle, deactivate, or delete codes after a trial window ends. We do not use expiration as a lever to push you into a paid plan.
No account required. Ever.
You should not have to hand over an email address to make a QR code. We will never require sign-up for any core feature. If we ever build account-gated features, they will be clearly optional extras — not walls in front of things you already had.
No watermarks. What you make is yours.
Every QR code you download is clean. No CapybaraQR logo stamped on it, no badge, no 'Made with...' credit forced into the design. It's your file.
Your data stays in your browser.
All QR generation, image conversion, and customization happens locally — inside your own browser tab. The content you encode (URLs, WiFi passwords, contact info, text) is never transmitted to our servers. We cannot see it because it never leaves your device.
No dark patterns.
We will not use countdown timers to create fake urgency. We will not hide 'free' features behind a sign-up that auto-enrolls you in a trial. We will not design confusing cancel flows. We will not use guilt-trip opt-outs. If we ever catch ourselves doing any of this, we will fix it — publicly.
Advertising will never distort the product.
CapybaraQR runs ads to stay free. Ads may be present on the page. They will never intercept your download, sit on top of the generate button, auto-play audio, or manipulate the tool in any way. If an ad placement ever compromises the tool, we remove the placement — not the promise.
We will tell you when things change.
This page is versioned. If we change any of these commitments — even to strengthen them — we will increment the version, update the date, and publish a clear changelog entry. You can bookmark this page and know exactly what we have agreed to.
Free stays free.
The core tool — generate a QR code, download it, use it forever — is free. Not 'free for 30 days.' Not 'free with limitations.' Just free. We may build paid features on top, but those will never remove something that is free today.
How to hold us to this
If you believe we have violated one of these promises, email us at hello@capybaraqr.com with a description of what happened. We commit to responding within 5 business days and, if the complaint is valid, publishing a correction in the changelog below.
You can also open a public issue on our GitHub repository. Public accountability is more powerful than private complaints.
